The Capital Athletic Conference announced its Sept. 24, 2013,
weekly award winners:
MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
Mary Washington senior
COREY LYONS (Stafford, Va./Governor’s Academy, Mass.) was
selected as the CAC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week
for Sept. 24, 2013 after breaking the tape and leading the Eagles
to the top four places and the team title at the 2013 Christopher
Newport Settler’s Invitational. Lyons covered the 8K
course in 20:33.
WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
Mary Washington junior
LAUREN BRANEY (Stafford, Va./Mountain View) was selected as the CAC
Women’s Cross Country Co-Athletes of the Week for Sept. 24,
2013, after taking top honors in the Christopher Newport
Settler’s Invitational Saturday, covering the 6K course in
19:38. It was her first individual victory of the season.
