UMW Cross Country Teams Compete at Inter Regional Rumble at Oberlin

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Inter Regional Rumble on Saturday in Oberlin, Ohio. The men finished 15th among 32 schools, while the women finished 18th among 30 schools.

For the men, senior Scott Plunkett was the team's top finisher, placing 20th overall at 24:54. Junior Corey Lyons was 91st at 26:00, Jeff Branson was 93rd at 26:02, Quincy Schmidt was 110th at 26:20, and Julian Menk was 120th at 26:26.

For the women, sophomore Tara Landy finished 22nd overall at 22:38, followed by Liz Green in 81st place at 23:20, Erin Dandridge in 102th place at 23:43, Trinity Smyth in 107th at 23:52, and Caroline Cerand in 112th place at 23:55.

Both teams will be off next weekend in preparation for the 2012 Capital Athletic Conference Championships in two weeks at Frostburg State University at 11:00 a.m.
