UMW Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Place 2nd at CAC Championships
The University of Mary Washington men's and women's cross country teams both finished second at the 2010 Capital Athletic Conference championships on Saturday in Salisbury, Md. Salisbury won both races to claim the CAC titles.

In the women's race, Salisbury was first with 34 points, followed by UMW with 57. UMW freshman Elizabeth Green (Viera, Fla., Viera) finished fifth at 22:56, with Madelyn Crowell (Danville, Va., Chatham) finishing 10th at 23:26, Sarah Dawes (Chesapeake Beach, Md., Huntingtown) 11th at 23:38, and Kristy Witek (Fairfax, Va., Chantilly) in 15th at 23:53. All were named to the All-CAC squad.

For the men, Salisbury had 21 points, followed by UMW with 51 and York with 80. All-conference finishers for the Eagles included Chris Marino (Portland, Conn., Portland) taking sixth at 25:59, followed by Scott Plunkett (Annandale, Va., Annandale) in seventh at 26:10. Stephen Harrison (Sterling, Va., Park View) was 10th at 26:26 and Kyle Anderson (New Milford, Conn., New Milford) was 12th at 26:30.

Both teams will be back in action again next Saturday in Memphis, Tenn. at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championships starting at 11 a.m.
