UMW Harriers Compete at DeSales Invitational

The University of Mary Washington men's cross country team finished in fifth place while the Eagle women took eighth at the DeSales University Invitational on Saturday in Allentown, Pa.

For the men, sophomore Scott Plunkett (Annandale, Va., Annandale) finished ninth overall with a time of 27:16, followed by Chris Marino (Portland, Conn., Portland) in 16th place at 27:38. Kyle Anderson (New Milford, Conn., New Milford) took 24th at 27:56, Daniel Ache (Fredericksburg, Va., James Monroe) finished 50th at 28:36, and Stephen Harrison (Sterling, Va., Park View) took 54th at 28:38.

 Freshman Elizabeth Green (Viera, Fla., Viera) finished 21st overall to lead the UMW women, with a time of 24:53. Senior Sarah Dawes (Chesapeake Beach, Md., Huntingtown) was 34th at 25:18, followed by Madelyn Crowell (Danville, Va., Chatham) in 48th at 25:48. Seniors Dawn Rainbolt (Gaithersburg, Md., Quince Orchard) (58th - 26:04) and Kristy Witek (Fairfax, Va., Chantilly) (64th - 26:17) rounded out the Eagles' top five.

Mary Washington will return to action in two weeks at the Mount Olive College Invitational on October 22.
