1996 Mary Washington College Women's Cross Country Season in Review

Despite loosening their grip on the Capital Athletic Conference title in 1996, the young MWC women's cross country team has much to look forward to in '97. Senior Caitlin McGurk, a three-time all-conference selection and two-time national race participant, leads a talented group of returnees. Among those is sophomore Tiffany Snodgrass, the reigning CAC Runner of the Year. Snodgrass improved in every race last year, culminating the season by winning the conference championship.

Classmate Julie Rakowski is another top runner returning, as she had several top-10 finishes, placing third in the conference championship last year and earning All-Region honors with a 13th-place finish at the NCAA Regional race. Other returnees looking to step up are Marga Fischel, Heather Siderius, Iaimee Baker, and Elizabeth Avery-Jones. They should be joined by newcomers Jaimie Donaruma, Beth Goodall, Erin Murray, and Kristin Neviackas.
