The University of Mary Washington volleyball team posted a 3-1 victory over Colorado College on Saturday in Santa Cruz, California, kicking off their three-match weekend. Game scores were 24-26, 25-22, 25-16, 25-18. The Eagles then burned he midnight oil wih a 3-2 victory over host UC Santa Cruz, coming back from two sets down, 21-25, 24-26, 25-15, 25-18, 25-10. UMW improves to 15-1 on the season.

After dropping the first against Colorado College, UMW battled back stronger as the match went along. Senior Jordan Lyons led the Eagles with 15 kills and 22 digs, while junior Chloe Crosen scored 10 kills and junior Emma Hadley added eight.

 Lauren Foley led with 25 assists, while Brenna Campbell added 16. Bryanna Miller posted five kills and five service aces, and also led with 23 digs. Caitlyn Burch scored seven kills without an error, and added three blocks.

The Eagles then took on the Banana Slugs, and dropped the first two games, but roared back for the 3-2 win. Burch led UMW with 12 kills, five digs, and seven blocks, while Crosen posted 11 kills and five blocks. Miller scored 10 kills, seven service aces, eight digs, and four blocks.

UMW will take on Santa Cruz again on Sunday at 4 pm Eastern time.
