
Defending league champion Mary Washington heads the 2023 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference preseason coache's poll, released on Monday. The Eagles, who finished 26-8 a year ago in winning the conference tittle and advancing to the NCAA Tournament Third Round, gained 34 poins in the vote, including four first-place votes.
The Eagles welcome back all but three players from last year's squad. Among the returnees are senior all-region hitter Jordan Lyons, who recorded 401 kills and 518 digs en route to first team all-conference honors, and all-conference junior hitter Chloe Crosen (276 kills, .290 hitting average). Senior middle hitter Cailyn Burch is coming off a breakout season that saw her score 212 kills and a .313 average with 87 total blocks. Returning starters Sarah Moore, Lauren Foley, Hannah Livermon and Brenna Campbell will look to lead a strong group of newcomers that includes all-conference transfer Bryanna Miller.
