UMW Volleyball Splits Matches with Stevens, #3 Juniata on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday at Juniata College in Huntingtown, Pa. The Eagles fell to third-ranked Juniata, 3-0, before topping Stevens Institute, 3-0. The Eagles move to 15-5 on the season.

The Eagles began the day facing Juniata, and fell in three games, 25-19, 25-12, 25-11. Junior Jordan Lyons and senior Krista Rodgers each had six kills to lead the Eagles, while sophomore Lauren Foley scored 12 assists. Lyons led UMW with seven digs, and Rodgers added three total blocks.

UMW rebounded to top Stevens in three, 25-12, 25-21, 25-19. Lyons led the way with 13 kills, with Rodgers adding nine. Junior Brenna Campbell posted 16 assists, and Lyons led the way with 16 digs. Rodgers, Caitlyn Burch, and Marie Butler each had three total blocks.

The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday, when they host Southern Virginia University at 6:00 p.m.
