The University of Mary Washington volleyball team took a 3-1 victory at Gallaudet University on Wednesday night in Washington, D.C., to improve to 11-3 on the season, and run its win streak to nine straight matches. Game scores were 25-17, 25-21, 22-25, 25-20.
The Eagles were led by senior hitter Olivia Casey, who scored 12 kills against one error in 33 attempts, while sophomore Kayla Browne added 11 kills against two errors in 22 attempts. Krista Rodgers and Aidan Finegan each scored ten kills.
Lauren Foley posted 25 assists and Makenna Santinga added 24, and Rodgers added four aces. Casey also led with 18 digs, while Jordan Lyons had 15 and senior Abby Wiles 13.
The Eagles posted a robust .385 in claiming the first game, and .297 in the second to take command.
UMW will be back in action on Friday at Messiah College against SUNY Brockport at 5 p.m.
