Freshman volleyball standout Savannah Powers has been named as the UMW Wagner Wealth Management Athlete of the Month for September.

Powers has helped the Eagles to an 18-1 start to the season, and recently was named the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week. The Fairfax, Va. product is averaging 2.81 kills per game as well as 2.03 digs per game.

Powers recorded a career-high 21 kills and 11 digs in a win over Heidelberg, and added 13 in the season-opening win over 24th ranked Randolph-Macon. She posted 16 kills in a win over Haverford, and has recorded three double-doubles in kills and digs.
