UMW Volleyball Tops Salisbury to Advance to CAC Championship
Freshman Hannah Lawson (Charlottesville, Va., Albemarle) scored 11 kills and seven digs and sophomore Karissa Herrick (Colts Neck, N.J., Colts Neck) added 10 kills and four blocks to lead the University of Mary Washington volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Salisbury University on Thursday night at Goolrick Gymnasium. Game scores were 25-17, 25-23, 25-15 for the Eagles, who improve to 19-8 on the year.

Laura Gomez (Charlottesville, Va., Albemarle) also turned in a solid effort at the net for UMW with four blocks and six kills. Tola Adebanjo (Overland Park, Ks., Blue Valley Northwest) had six kills, Kaitlynn Wickersham (Midlothian, Va., Manchester) had nine digs, and Katie Shiflett (Weyers Cave, Va., Fort Defiance) had 34 assists and eight digs. 

Salisbury was led by Chelsea Glowacki's eight kills and Carley Todd's seven.

The Eagles will visit Frostburg State University on Saturday in the CAC Championship at 2:00 p.m., with the winner advancing to the NCAA Tournament with an automatic bid.
