UMW Volleyball Tops Salisbury to Remain Undefeated in CAC Play
Freshman Hannah Lawson scored a team-high 16 kills, including seven in the final game, to lead the University of Mary Washington volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Salisbury University in Capital Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night at Goolrick Gymnasium. Game scores were 25-17, 21-25, 28-26, 25-16.

Lawson added nine digs, three aces, and three blocks for UMW, who saw siophomore Laura Gomez score 10 kills and three blocks and sophomore Ellen Smethurst add seven kills. Junior Katie Shiflett had 25 assists and two aces and freshman Sammy Hogue added 12 assists and two aces. Junior Tola Adebanjo had six kills and two aces for the Eagles, who improve to 13-5 overall and 3-0 in CAC play.

Salisbury was led by Carley Todd's eight kills and 14 assists and Jacki Kaluzny's 22 digs. Mary Washington will visit York College of Pa. on Saturday afternoon in another CAC match starting at 2:00 p.m.
