UMW Volleyball Drops Match at Randolph-Macon
The University of Mary Washington volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision at Randolph-Macon College on Wednesday night, tasting defeat for the first time in 2010. Game scores were 25-18, 22-25, 25-21, 25-21. The Eagles fall to 5-1.

Sophomore Laura Gomez (Charlottesville, Va., Albemarle) led the Eagles with seven kills, two aces, and three blocks. Karissa Herrick (Colts Neck, N.J., Colts Neck) had a team-high eight kills, and freshman Hannah Lawson (Charlottesville, Va., Albemarle) added five kills. Junior Katie Shiflett (Weyers Cave, Va., Fort Defiance) had 30 assists and one solo block, and freshman Kaitlynn Wickersham (Midlothian, Va., Manchester) posted 12 digs.

The Eagles will return to action this weekend when they play in the Lynchburg College Tournament.
