The 24th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team swept a 9-0 decision at Virginia Wesleyan University on Wednesday afternoon in Virginia Beach. The Eagles improve to 8-8 on the season.
The Eagles started swiftly in doubles, as Amanda Hagino and Hana Kimmey at one, Emily Beckner and Addison Felts at two, and Linda Dimitroff at three all scored 8-0 wins.
In singles, Felts scored a 6-0, 6-0 win at one, Dimitroff won at two, 6-3, 6-0, and Smith won, 6-1, 6-1 at three. Jacey Copeland at four and Alexandra Jaksec at five scored 6-0, 6-0 wins, and Evie Snyder won at six, 6-1, 6-0.
The Eagles will return to action on Saturday at Washington & Lee University at 1:00 p.m.
