
The 26th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to 19th ranked Kenyon College on Saturday afternoon at the Hegmann Family Tennis Complex. The Eagles slip to 3-3 on the season.
UMW scored a point at one doubles, as regionally-ranked Amanda Hagino and Hana Kimmey scored an 8-4 victory over Eleni Lazaridou and Allaire Berl. The Eagles fell at two, 8-5, as well as at three, 8-5, and trailed 2-1 entering singles.
In singles play, the Owls scored wins at all six flights. Senior Riley Smith gained the first set at six, but fell, 4-6, 6-1, 10-3, in a super breaker.
The Eagles will be back in action on Monday when they host Tufts University at 4:00 p.m.
