#30 UMW Women's Tennis Tops Salisbury, 9-0, on Wednesday

The 30th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team swept a 9-0 decision from Salisbury University on Wednesday afternoon at the Hegmann Family Tennis Courts. The Eagles improve to 7-8 on the season.

In doubles, Amanda Hagino and Hana Kimmey gained an 8-3 victory over Katherine Tamesis and Olivia Hall at one, Abby Moghtader and Rebecca Stepleman gained an 8-0 win at two over Elizabeth Christine and Sarah Cooper, and Riley Smith and Emily Beckner scored an 8-2 win at three over Evelyn Whiteside and Hannah Carter.

In singles, Moghtader took a 6-1, 6-0 win over Tamesis at one, Hagino topped Christine, 6-1, 6-1, at two, and Kimmey defeated Hall at three, 6-1, 6-3. Stepleman bested Cooper at four, 6-1, 6-2, Beckner beat Carter, 6-3, 6-1, at five, and Smith downed Whiteside at six, 6-0, 6-3.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday when they host Johns Hopkins University at noon.
