The 13th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to 11th ranked Carnegie Mellon University on Saturday afternoon at the Battleground. The Eagles slip to 7-4 on the season.
The Eagles picked up a win at one doubles, as All-Americans Abby Moghtader and Lauren Quinn topped Lindy Cornwall and Bin Zheng, 8-6. Claire Coleman and Amanda Hagino fell at two, 8-7 (3), and Emily Beckner and Hana Kimmey fell at three, 8-6.
In singles UMW scored its lone win at four, as Hagino defeated Zheng, 5-7, 7-5, 11-9.
The Eagles will return to action on Sunday, when they visit #17 Washington & Lee University at 1:00 p.m.
