#12 UMW Women's Tennis Tops #18 Kenyon, 7-2, on Sunday

The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team, ranked 12th in the nation, topped 18th ranked Kenyon College, 7-2, on Sunday afternoon at the Battleground. The Eagles improve to 6-2 on the season.

The Eagles scored all three doubles points, as Abby Moghtader and Lauren Quinn defeated Daria Beshentseva and Eleni Dakos, 8-5, at one, Claire Coleman and Amanda Hagino downed Erika Pontillo and Anna Winslow at two, 8-4, and Hana Kimmey and Emily Beckner won at three, 8-4, over Catriona MacIntosh and Lalasa Nagireddy.

The Eagles picked up four singles wins, with Coleman defeating Dakos at two, 7-5, 6-4, Quinn stopping Winslow at three, 6-0, 5-7, 6-3, Hagino downing MacIntosh at four, 7-6 (7-3), 6-1, and Beckner defeating Pontillo at five, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.

UMW will be back in action on Friday against #21 Washington (MO) University in San Antonio, Texas at 2:00 p.m.
