UMW Women's Tennis Blanks St. Mary's, 9-0, on Thursday

The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated Coast 2 Coast Athletic Conference foe St. Mary's College of Md., 9-0, on Thursday afternoon in St. Mary's City, Md. The Eagles improve to 7-2 on the season, including a 6-0 mark against Division III foes.

In doubles, Claire Coleman and Amanda Hagino won at one, 8-0, Sophie Dixon and Riley Smith won at two, 8-2, and Hana Kimmey and Olivia Moore won at three, 8-0.

Singles competition followed, and Coleman won at one, 6-0, 6-1, Hagino won at two, 6-0, 6-1, and Kimmey won at three, 6-0, 6-2. Dixon won at four, 6-0, 6-0, Smith won at five, 6-0, 6-0, and Moore won at six, 6-0, 6-0.

The Eagles will be back in action on Sunday when they visit Christopher Newport University at 3:00 p.m.
