#16 UMW Women’s Tennis Falls to #21 Skidmore, 6-3, on Sunday

The sixteenth-ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team fell to Skidmore College, 6-3, on Sunday morning in Fredericksburg, Va. The Eagles fall to 6-3 on the season.

UMW jumped ahead 2-1 in doubles action as one doubles and two doubles both won their matches. Ashley Barrow and Kait Brogan won at one 8-3, while Rachel Summers and Caroline Mosberg won 8-1 at two. Skidmore won three doubles 8-5.

Olivia Moore secured the one singles win for the Eagles as she won at six 6-2, 6-4. UMW took three singles matches to three sets. Skidmore won at one singles 5-7, 6-2, 7-6; two singles 3-6, 6-3, 6-3; three singles 7-6, 6-4; four singles 6-4, 6-4; and five singles 6-3, 6-4.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday as they will host Centre College and York (Pa.) at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.
