#18 UMW Women's Tennis Blanks Frostburg, St. Mary's in CAC Action on Wednesday

The 18th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team swept a pair of 9-0 decisions in road Capital Athletic Conference contests on Wednesday, defeating Frostburg State University and St. Mary's College of Md. UMW improves to 15-3 on the season, and is now 6-0 in Capital Athletic Conference play.

In Frostburg, the Eagles gained wins at one doubles from Kait Brogan and Shelby Harris, 8-1; Christina Gaul and Alina Suyama at two, 8-0; Brittany McBride and Danielle Mirabella at three, 8-1.

In singles play, the Eagles won all six matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores. Brogan won at one, Harris at two, Gaul at three, Mirabella at four, McBride at five, and Berri Flood at six.

At St. Mary's the Eagles picked up doubles wins from Mckenzie Smith and Taylor Diffley at one, 8-1; Caroline Mosberg and Sara Fioretti at two, 8-1; and Hannah Jabusch and Ashley Price at three, 8-5.

In singles, Mosberg won at one, 6-2, 6-2; Diffley won at two, 6-0, 6-0; Smith won at three, 6-0, 6-0; Jabusch won at four, 6-0, 6-0; Price won at five, 6-0, 6-0; and Fioretti won at six, 6-1, 6-0.

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday when they host Christopher Newport University at 11:00 a.m., followed by the alumni gathering.
