#18 UMW Women's Tennis Breezes Past F&M, 9-0, on Sunday

The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team, ranked 18th in the nation, swept Franklin & Marshall College, 9-0, on Sunday at the UMW Indoor Tennis Center. With the win, the Eagles improve to 13-3 on the season.

In doubles, Taylor Diffley and Mckenzie Smith won at two, 8-0, and Sara Fioretti and Caroline Mosberg won at three, 8-1, before Kait Brogan and Shelby Harris won at one, 8-2.

In singles action, Danielle Mirabella won at six, 6-1, 6-1, before Mosberg brought home the clinching point with a win at two, 6-0, 6-0. Smith then won at four, 6-2, 6-1, and Chrissy Gaul won at five, 6-1, 6-1.

Diffley won at three, 6-3, 6-4, and Brogan ended the day with a 6-2, 6-4 win at one.

The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday when they visit Frostburg State University at 4 p.m. and St. Mary's College at 6 p.m. in a pair of Capital Athletic Conference matches.
