#18 UMW Women's Tennis Completes Undefeated Weekend with 6-3 Win Over #21 Case Western

The 18th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated 21st ranked Case Western Reserve University on Sunday afternoon at the UMW Indoor Tennis Center. The Eagles improve to 10-2 on the season.

The Eagles jumped ahead with a 2-1 lead through doubles. Shelby Harris and Kait Brogan won at one, 8-2, and Taylor Diffley and Mackenzie Smith won at two, 8-6.

In singles, Case Western won the first two decisions to take a 3-2 lead, but Diffley won at three, 6-1, 6-3, and Brogan won at one, 6-2, 6-7, 7-6. Danielle Mirabella won at six to clinch the victory at six, 6-1, 6-2, and Smith capped the win with a 2-6, 6-4, 10-7 win at five.

Mary Washington will return to action on Thursday when they visit Salisbury University in Capital Athletic Conference action at 4:00 p.m.
