UMW's Lindsay Raulston Ascends to Second In ITA Regional Singles Ranking

Mary Washington junior Lindsay Raulston has moved up to the #2 spot in the ITA Atlantic South Regional Singles Rankings, which were released Thursday night (3/28).  This the first time Raulston, a 2012 All-American selection in singles, has been ranked this high by the ITA.

Raulston, who is 8-0 on the season,  joins an elite group of  decorated Mary Washington alumni that been ranked top three in the region. The last time Mary Washington had a singles player ranked at #2 in the region was Lea Schon, a 1999 graduate of Mary Washington, and a 2012 UMW Athletic  Hall of Fame Inductee. Schon finished the 1999 season ranked #12 in the country. The last player to be ranked in the top three during Coach Patrick Catullo’s tenure was five-time All-American Rebecca Morse-Karzen.  Morse-Karzen was ranked as high as #3 in the region during her 2009 senior season and finished her career ranked #15 in the country.

The ITA Atlantic South Regional Doubles Rankings were also released this week with several UMW players making the list.  Raulston and freshman Shelby Harris (6-1) were ranked at #5 and their teammates, senior Cassie Bowman and sophomore Alex Ritter (7-2) were ranked at #14 in the region.
