The 27th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated The College of New Jersey for the first time since 2009 with a 6-3 win over the Lions on Saturday in Ewing, N.J. UMW improves to 16-4 on the year.

After posting wins at one and two doubles, the eagles gained wins from Shelby Harris at two, Alex Ritter at four, Chrissy Gaul at five, and Paige Weinberg at six for the 6-3 win.

The Eagles will host a Capital Athletic Conference tournament semifinal on Wednesday afternoon.
