The 26th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated visiting Elizabethtown College, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Battleground. The Eagles improve to 8-0 on the season.
After sweeping all three doubles matches, UMW gained wins at one singles with Lindsay Raulston winning, 6-0, 6-0; Shelby Harris at three (6-3, 6-1); Alex Ritter at four (6-0, 6-2); Chrissy Gaul at five (6-2, 6-1); and Paige Weinberg at six (6-2, 6-2).
The Eagles will return to action next saturday when they visit sixth-ranked Carnegie-Mellon University at 10:00 a.m.
