Mary Washington junior attack CATHERINE KENNEDY (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Lutheran) and UMW junior goalie DANIELLE GUIGLI (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) were named the CAC Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week.
Kennedy was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after providing the spark in the Eagles’ near-upset of 10th-ranked Williams, scoring two goals and dishing out three assists in a 9-8 setback, then totaled seven points (3 G, 4 A) in Saturday’s CAC victory over St. Mary’s to move the Eagles into second place in the conference standings.
Guigli was picked as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after stallwart performances on defense for the 18th-ranked Eagles. She started the week registering 14 saves (60.9%) in a one-goal loss to 10th-ranked Williams, then equaled that total with a 66.7 save percentage Saturday against CAC rival St. Mary’s.
