UMW Women's Swimming Tops Randolph-Macon, 153-107

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team defeated Randolph-Macon College, 153-107, on Thursday evening in Ashland, Va. The Eagles improve to 2-1 on the season.

UMW opened the night with a win in the 400 medley relay, as Phoebe Root, Bridget Zagrobelny, Bridget Wilson, and Margie Jones touched out first at 4:04.23. Zagrobelny finished first in the 200 freestyle at 2:00.78, and Root won the 50 backstroke at 28.81. Emma Walker won the 50 free at 26.20, Selby Heyman won the 100 free at 55.87, and Root won the 200 back at 2:15.80.

Zagrobelny continued her great evening with a win in the 500 free at 5:29.02, Wilson won the 50 fly a 27.50, and the 200 free relay closed the night with a win, as Jones, Heyman, Ann Carr, and Ashlyn Diederich touched first at 1:42.92.

After hosting the alumni on Saturday, UMW will next be in action on November 4 at Franklin & Marshall with York College.
