Three-Time All-America Kinsey Brooks Gains UMW Female Athlete of the Year

Junior three-time All-America swimmer Kinsey Brooks (Lake St. Louis, Mo.) has been named as the 2022-23 University of Mary Washington Female Athlete of the Year.

Brooks went undefeated in individual races throughout the season, as she repeated as the Metro Swimming and Diving Conference Swimmer of the Year, and was also named the Virginia State College Division Swimmer of the Year. Kinsey shined at the NCAA Division III Swimming Championships, gaining three All-America honors in accumulating enough points as an individual to finish in 21st place in the team competition. She finished third in the 100 yard breaststroke, with a time of 1:01.51. She took sixth in the 200 yard individual medley, with a time of 2:02.02, and took 10th in the 200 yard breaststroke, at 2:16.18.

In two seasons, Brooks is a six-time All-American, two-time METS Conference Swimmer of the Year, and repeats as the UMW Female Athlete of the Year. The UMW Male and Female Athlete of the Year awards have been presented each year since 2012-13.
