UMW Women's Swimming Claims 2023 METS Championship; Brooks and Anderson Honored

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team captured the 2023 Metro Swimming Conference championship on Sunday evening in New Brunswick, N.J. The victory is the Eagles' second straight in the conference, and 32nd consecutive conference title overall.

On Sunday, junior Kinsey Brooks finished first in the 200 yard breaststroke, with an NCAA provisional time of 2:16.25, after swimming 2:15.07 in preliminaries. Sophomore Bridget WIlson won the 200 butterfly at 2:07.56, and junior Rose McMullen took second, at 2:07.85. 

The Eagles won with 1221 points, ahead of second place Rowan's 942, in a 16-team field. Junior Kinsey Brooks was named as the conference swimmer of the year for the second consecutive year, and head coach Justin Anderson was named conference coach of the year for the second straight season.
