University of Mary Washington junior swimmer Kinsey Brooks (Lake St. Louis, Mo. / Spotsylvania) has been named as the Virginia Lottery University of Mary Washington Female Athlete of the Month for January 2023.

Brooks  had a perfect record in January, going 7 for 7 with individual first place finishes and 4 for 4 relay first place finishes. She posted the #2 time in the conference in the 100 fly at Marymount, the #6 time in the conference in the 100 backstroke against Gettysburg, and the #6 time in the 200 back against Gettysburg. Her times in all three of those events ranked as new top 20 times in program history. Her 100 fly was 10^th all time in school history, 100 back was 10^th all time in school history and her 200 back was 14^th all time in school history.
