UMW Women's Swimming Tops Marymount, 193-69, on Friday

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team raced to a 193-69 victory at Marymount University on Friday afternoon. 

The Eagles opened with a win in the 200 medley relay from Phoebe Root, Delaney Humphrey, Kinsey Brooks and Paige Strycker touched first at 1:55.56. Megan Kim won the 1000 freestyle at 11:16.79, Bridget Zagrobelny won the 200 free at 2:01.99, and Amber Candido won the 50 back at 29.60. 

Kinsey Brooks won the 100 butterfly at 57.70, Margie Jones won the 50 free at 25.92, and Jenny Thompson won the 100 free at 57.01. Phoebe Root won the 100 backstroke at 1:02.92, Thaila Costanza won the 100 breaststroke at 1:08.36, and April Groce won the 500 freestyle at 5:37.41. Jones then won the 50 yard butterfly at 27.96, and Thompson won the 400 IM at 4:49.97, before the 200 free relay of Brooks, Julia May, Abby Reilly, and Humphrey took first at 1:44.57.

The Eagles will be right back in action on Saturday at 1 p.m. when the Eagles host Gettysburg College.
