UMW Women's Swimming Holds Strong at Third After Day Two of the F & M Invitational

The University of Mary Washington women's swim team stayed in third place after day two at the Franklin & Marshall College Invitational.

The Eagles saw the 200 yard free relay of Kinsey BrooksThalia Costanza, Margaret Jones and Selby Heyman finished in third at 1:47.89. The 400 IM swimmers, including Jenny Thompson and Delaney Humphrey, took times of 4:39.15 and 4:42.02, with Kaylie Curran, Julianna Bleeker, and April Groce going back-to-back-to-back with times of 4:49.10, 4:55.10, 4:56.60, respectively. Margaret Jones took the top spot in the 100 butterfly at 58.17, with her fellow Eagles Bridget Wilson and Rose McMullen earning fourth and eighth place at 58.96 and 59.52. Kinsey Brooks crushed the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.92, with Thalia Constanza and Bridget Zagrobelny finishing back to back with times of 1:06.97 and 1:07.47. As the 100 yard backstroke was the last evening of the evening, Selby Heyman, Phoebe Root, Sarah Yowell, and Kaylie Curran were determined to finish strong; they all finished within one second of each other's' final times at 1:01.42 and 1:01.64, with Yowell and Curran tying times at 1:01.81.

The meet will continue and conclude on Sunday.
