UMW Women's Swimming Takes 3rd After Day One at F&M

The University of Mary Washington women's swim team took third place on day one at the Franklin & Marshall College Invitational.

The Eagles saw the 200 yard free relay of Ashley DyerAmber CandidoPaige Strycker, and Bridget Wilson finish eighth at 1:41.39. The one-two-three punch of Rose McMullen, Candido, and Dyer finished the 500 free with times of 5:17.14, 5:18.79, and 5:22.23, respectively. Kinsey Brooks won the 200 yard IM outright at a staggering 2:05.16, while the trio of Selby Heyman, Thalia Constanza, and Margaret Jones were trying to beat each other's times in the 50 free at 24.31, 24.79, and 25.08, respectively. The 400 medley relay of Phoebe Root, Brooks, Bridget Wilson, and Costanza finished third overall at 3:56.54.

The meet will continue on Saturday.
