UMW Women's Swimming Defeats University of Lynchburg, 185-77

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team toppled over the University of Lynchburg 185-77 on Friday night at Goolrick Natatorium.

The Eagles were led by sophomore Ashley Dyer, who finished first in the 200, 500, and 1000 freestyle. Dyer won the 1000 at 11:01.06 - dropping 1.56 seconds, finished the 200 at 1:59.04, and then won the 500 free at 5:21.66. Junior Kinsey Brooks swam hard and finished atop the leaderboard on three of her individual events (100 yard breastroke: 1:07.43, 200 yard breaststroke: 2:25.79, and 200 yard IM: 2:12.99). Ashley Dyer also finished first in her three individiual events.

UMW will be back in action on Saturday, October 29, when the Eagles host Randolph-Macon College at 2:00 p.m.
