UMW Women's Swimming Opens With Loss to W&L on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team dropped a 179-82 decision to visiting Washington & Lee University on Saturday at Goolrick Natatorium.

The Eagles were led by sophomore Ashley Dyer, who finished first in the 200, 500, and 1000 freestyle. Dyer won the 1000 at 11:02.62, finished the 200 at 2:00.04, and then won the 500 free at 5:21.13. Margie Jones also picked up a victory for the Eagles, in the 200 yard butterfly.

UMW will return to action on Friday evening when the Eagles host the University of Lynchburg at 6:00 p.m.
