UMW Women's Swimming Tops St. Mary's on Friday Night, 210-48

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team defeated St. Mary's College of MD on Friday night, 210-48, to improve to 6-1 on the season.

UMW opened the night by dominating the 200 medley relay, with Kaylie Curran, Kinsey Brooks, Bridget Wilson, and Paige Stryker took first at 1:53.75. Caroline Turner finished first in the 1000 freestyle at 11:21.72, and Ashley Dyer led a charge that saw UMW finish 1-2-3-4 in the 200 free, at 2:01.54.

Margie Jones was first in the 100 backstroke at 1:02.75, Kinsey Brooks was first in the 100 breaststroke at 1:06.75, and Megan Kim was first in the 200 fly at 2:16.90. Brooks won the 50 free at 24.68, Thalia Costanza was first in the 100 free at 55.57.

Jenny Thompson was first in the 200 backstroke at 2:16.72, Jones was first in the 500 free at 5:29.76, and Wilson won the 100 butterfly at 1:00.28. Thompson won the 400 IM at 4:45.76. The 400 free relay of Kim, Bridget Zagrobelny, Brooks, and Julia May were first at 3:46.41.

The Eagles will return to action next weekend at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.
