UMW Women's Swimming Breaks Four Pool Marks in 139-109 Win at Salisbury

The University of Mary Washington women's swim team broke four pool records in a 139-109 win at Salisbury University on Saturday afternoon in Capital Athletic Conference action.

Carley Vaughn, Mary Zagrobelny, Erin Whitesell, and Grace Gartman opened the proceedings with a pool record in the 400 medley relay, with a time of 4:32.53, and Vaughn broke the mark in the 50 meter backstroke at 31.45. Zagrobelny broke the mark in the 50 breaststroke at 35.74, and Whitesell broke the mark in the 500 meter butterfly at 30.35.

Claudia Keller won the 800 meter freestyle at 9:45.29, Julia Geskey won the 200 meter free at 2:13.74, and Whitesell won the 100 butterfly at 1:06.39. Gartman won the 50 free at 28.74, Geskey won the 100 free at 1:02.44, and Keller won the 100 back at 1:08.92.

Zagrobelny won the 100 breast at 1:17.67, Macey Lynch won the 400 free at 4:52.31, and Jenny Thompson won the 200 IM at 2:31.74. The 400 free relay of Thalia Costanza, Gartman, Geskey, and Lynch won at 4:13.12.

The Eagles will return to action next Saturday as they host Franklin & Marshall College and Barton College at 1 p.m.
