UMW Women's Swimmers Top St. Mary's, 172-73, on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team defeated St. Mary's College, 172-73, on Saturday afternoon in Capital Athletic Conference action at Goolrick Natatorium.

The 200 medley relay of Carley Vaughn, Mary Zagrobelny, Erin Whitesell, and Sydney Hall took first at 1:50.56 to kick off the proceedings, and Julia May followed with a win in the 1000 yard freestyle at 11:15.17. Claudia Keller won the 200 free at 2:01.71, Vaughn won the 100 backstroke at 1:01.79, and Zagrobelny claimed the 100 breaststroke at 1:08.22.

Grace Nicolai followed with a win in the 200 butterfly at 2:16.27, and Keller returned to win the 200 backstroke at 2:14.38. Jenny Thompson won the 200 breaststroke at 2:35.09, Julia Geskey won the 500 free at 5:23.85, and Vaughn won the 100 butterfly at 1:01.45. 

Nicolai claimed the 200 IM at 2:15.88, and the 200 free relay of Makenzie Katzer, Macey Lynch, Thalia Costanza, and Nicolai won at 1:45.45.

The Eagles will return to action next Saturday as they return to action to visit York College of PA in another CAC dual meet.
