UMW Women's Swimming Captures Seven Event Wins at F&M as Eagles Win Three Dual Meets

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team picked up seven event wins while winning three dual meets at Franklin & Marshall College on Saturday in Lancaster, Pa. The Eagles topped F&M, 167-94, York, 156-104, and Widener, 199-62.

The Eagles gained victories from sophomore Claudia Keller in the 1000 yard freestyle at 10:55.20 and Mary Zagrobelny in the 100 yard breaststroke at 1:09.92. Also in the 100 breast, Megan Carney finished second at 1:11.36, and Melissa Autry finished third at 1:12.26.

Carley Vaughn won the 200 yard butterfly at 2:12.64, and Zagrobelny took first in the 200 breaststroke at 2:32.01, as the Eagles again finished 1-2-3 with Carney taking second and Callie Dunham finishing third.

Keller won the 500 freestyle at 5:20.47, and Vaughn won the 100 yard butterfly at 1:00.15. The 200 yard freestyle relay capped the day with a victory, as Kait Luncher, Macey Lynch, Grace Gartman, and Sydney Hall took first at 1:42.12.

The Eagles will be back in action on Friday when they host Frostburg State University and Hollins College at 5 p.m.
