
Senior Megan Murphy continued to shine as the University of Mary Washington women's swimming team finished in first place at the Gettysburg College Invitational on Saturday.
Following her NCAA B cut and pool record on Friday, Murphy continued to shine on Saturday, finishing first in the 100 yard butterfly at 56.91. Julia Geksey opened the day with a first place in the 400 IM at 4:35.90, and Carley Vaughn finished second to Murphy in the fly. Michaela Miller was second in the 200 freestyle at 1:57.82, and Mary Nagrobelny was first in the 100 breastsroke at 1:07.72, as UMW finished 1-3-4. Geskey won the 100 backstroke at 58.95 as the Eagles went 1-2-3 with Vaughn placing second and Maddy Rymer third.
The 200 yard free relay of Murphy, Grace Gartman, Kait Luncher and Vaughn finished first at 1:38.97, while a second Eagle relay took third at 1:41.27, consisting of Rymer, Melissa Autry, Miller, and Turner. Claudia Keller finished second in the 500 freestyle at 5:16.95, and Murphy won the 200 IM at 2:09.86, with Rymer third, Miller fourth, and Callie Dunham fifth.
Gartman was second in the 50 free and Luncher finished fourth, and the 400 medley relay finished first at 3:57.71.
