UMW Women's Swimmers Top Catholic, 163-99, in Saturday Meet

The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team defeated Catholic University, 163-99, on Saturday in Washington, D.C., to move to 2-0 on the season.

The 200 yard medley relay team led off with a first place finish from Katie Fago, Hannah Hagy, Shannon Coryell, and Stephanie Hallock at 1:51.25. Megan Murphy won the 1000 freestyle at 11:05.17, Hallock won the 200 freestyle at 2:01.14, and Taylor Mooney won the 100 backstroke at 1:02.65.

Hagy took first in the 100 breaststroke at 1:11.33,Coryell won the 50 freestyle at 25.47 and the 100 freestyle at 55.37, Emily Adams won the 200 backstroke at 2:14.94, and Murphy won the 200 breaststroke at 2:40.41. Abby Cox won the 500 free at 5:30.42, Hagy won the 100 butterfly at 1:00.76, Murphy won the 200 IM at 2:17.79, and the 200 free relay of Hallock, Ashley Walnut, Kait Luncher, and Bailey Stewart won at 1:42.32.

The Eagles will be back in action on October 30 when they visit Frostburg State University at 6:00 p.m.
