UMW Women's Swimmers Extend Lead After Day Two of CAC Championships

The University of Mary Washington women's swim team advanced its lead after a successful day two at the Capital Athletic Conference Championships at St. Mary's College.

The 200 medley relay started the night with a CAC record-breaking time of 1:45.41. That relay consisted of Katie Fago, Alex Parrish, Hannah Hagy, and Stephanie Hallock.

Freshman Megan Murphy won the 400 yard IM at 4:31.81, followed by Abby Cox in second at 4:33.84. Both qualify provisionally for the NCAA Championships. The Eagles finished 1-2 in the 100 yard butterfly, as Shannon Coryell finished first at 58.00, and Hagy took second at 58.16.

Hallock took first in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.37. Parrish took second in the 100 breastsroke at 1:06.90, followed by Hagy at 1:08.37.

The Eagles finished 1-2-3 in the 100 backstroke, led by Fago in first at 56.91 (an NCAA provisional cut), followed by Anna Corley at 58.59, and Maddy Rymer at 59.51.

The 800 free relay of Murphy, Robin Brazier, Cox, and Corley took first at 7:45.17.
