Eagles Defeat Randolph-Macon 162-43 on Saturday

RESULTS

Fredericksburg, Va-- The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team raced past the Yellow Jackets on Saturday from the Goolrick Pool. The win moves the Eagles to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in CAC play on the year. 

The Eagles won both relays of the afternoon, in the 200 Medley and 200 Free. The Medley team of Steph Hallock, Hannah Hagy, Abby Cox, and Katie Fago won in a time of 1:54.83, edging teammates Mary-Patrick Bailey, Casey Dawson, Amber Kerico, and Tara Banks (1:58.70). The 200 Free quartet of Banks, Anna Corley, Shannon Coryell, and Hallock won with a time of 1:42.55. The team of Riley Scalzo, Meredith Thompson, Ashley Walnut and Lauren Wood finished second with a time of 1:45.72.

UMW finished first in all but one individual event. Jessica Singer won her two events, in the 1000 and 200 Free. Singer won the distance event in a time of 10:57.14, while winning the sprint event in a time of 2:00.87. Kristen Callahan also won two events. Callahan won the 400 IM with a time of 4:50.66, as well as the 100 Breast in 1:12.97. Coryell picked up a win in the 100 Fly in 1:01.19. Hallock and Fago won back to back events, in the 100 Free and 100 Back respectively. Hallock won in 55.85 and Fago in 1:02.03. Catherine Perrin won the final event for the Eagles, the 500 Free, in a time of 5:33.53.

The team returns to action next Saturday, November 16th. UMW travels to our nation's capital to take on Howard, starting at 1:00 p.m.
