Bauserman's Score Lifts UMW Women's Soccer Past Salisbury, 1-0

Sophomore Madison Bauserman scored the game's only goal in the 62nd minute to give the University of Mary Washington women's soccer team a 1-0 victory over Salisbury University on Saturday afternoon at the Battleground. With the win, the Eagles improve to 7-6-1 on the season.

In a defensive battle from the start, the game remained scoreless in the first half, as the two teams combined for seven shots (UMW 4, Salisbury 3). UMW found the game winner at 62:00, as Bauserman found the nets for her second goal of the season.

In all, the Eagles led in shots, 8-6, while Salisbury held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. UMW goalkeepers Sydney Alexander and Morgan Hicok combined for the shutout, with Alexander making three saves and Hicok one.

UMW will return to action on Tuesday when the Eagles host Catholic University at 3:00 p.m. at the Battleground.
