UMW Women's Soccer Falls to No. 17 Virginia Wesleyan

The Mary Washington women's soccer team (4-2) fell at No. 17 Virgina Wesleyan on Saturday night, 3-0.

None of the Eagles' six shots -- four of which were on net -- found the back of the goal. The Marlins recorded nine shots, four were on goal.

First year forward Maci Landel, who's tied with junior forward Jazzy Imanverdi on the team in goals scored (2), led Mary Washington with three shots -- two of which needed to be saved by Virginia Wesleyan's keeper. Sophomore forward Kaitlyn Venzen, junior midfielder Eliza Franklin, and sophomore midfielder Ellen Shine recorded the other three shots.

Adriana Thompson started in goal for UMW and recorded a save.

The Eagles head back on the road for a meeting with Bridgewater on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 4 p.m.
