Freshman goalie Sydney Alexander started he collegiate career in fine fashion this weekend, recording a pair of shutouts as Mary Washington blanked Randolph-Macon and Marymount to lift the lid on the 2023 season. In Friday's 1-0 win over the Yellow Jackets, was challenged a barrage of times, recording two saves while her defense helped her out with the rest.  In Sunday night's 3-0 win at Marymount, didn't see a shot on goal.

Honorable Mention: Reagan Boyer scored a goal in UMW's season-opening win this weekend.  The forward scored the lone goal in the 1-0 victory over Randolph-Macon on Friday afternoon in the sixth minute.
