UMW Eagles Fall to CNU Captains in Homecoming C2C matchup, 1-0

The University of Mary Washington women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 deicison at top-ranked Christopher Newport University on Saturday afternoon in Fredericksburg, Va, during their homecoming weekend game. The Eagles fall to 8-4-4 on the season.

The game was a defensive battle throughout, with neither team able to hit the nets for the first 58 minutes of the game, with limited shots on each side. CNU Captains forward Corinne Kulik scored at 58:19 to pull ahead with the eventual game winner.

CNU led in shots, 12-9, and in corner kicks 5-2. UMW goalkeeper Ally Holden made an impressive eight saves on the afternoon, splitting four and four throughout the game. 

The Eagles will be back in action for a match with Catholic on Wednesday at 7 pm in Washington, D.C.
