UMW Women's Soccer Tops Marymount, 2-1

Seniors Hope Grzebien (Glenelg, Md. / Glenelg) and Amanda Krest (Ashburn, Va./Ridge) netted goals to lead the University of Mary Washington women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Marymount University at the Battleground on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles even their season record at 2-2.

Krest came up with an early goal, at 1:28, assisted by Macy Wissell. Grzebien's goal came soon thereafter at 12:45, assisted by Krest. The Saints reached the scoreboard at 81:52, but the Eagles held them scoreless for the remainder of the game. 

UMW led in shots, 20-3, and in corner kicks, 7-1. UMW goalkeeper Alley Holden held the Saints scoreless and had one save in 52:56, with Adriana Thompson allowing one goal in 37:04 minutes of play.

The Eagles will be back in action on next Wednesday at 7:00 pm when they head to Harrisonburg, VA to play the Eastern Mennonite University Royals.
