UMW Women's Soccer Falls to UC Santa Cruz in C2C Semifinal, 1-0

After nearly 86 minutes of scoreless action, the University of California-Santa Cruz scored the game's lone goal, giving the University of Mary Washington women's soccer a 1-0 defeat in the semifinal round of the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference tournament on Saturday in Salisbury, Md.

The Banana Slugs held a lead in shots in the opening half, but the Eagle defense stood strong, and the defensive play remained through the second half. UCSC found the game winner at 85:49. 

The Eagles were outshot, 14-7, and UCSC also led in corner kicks, 8-1. UMW senior goalkeeper ALlison Nork (Harrisburg, Pa.) made four saves in the opening half before an injury brought in freshman Morgan Hicok (Burke, Va.) came in to make three saves in relief.
